Micro-SaaS · Pick the idea
Picking a niche
A good small online business serves a group of people who already pay for a painful, repeated job.
Questions to ask:
- Is the pain repeated? Daily or weekly beats once a year.
- Is the data or skill available? Data you can collect reliably, a craft you know, or a format you can produce every day.
- Can you reach them? A search term they type, a community they read, a platform they scroll.
- Will one person pay a small monthly amount? If not, you need a large audience instead.
- Can AI do most of the repeat work? If every unit needs you, it is a job, not a machine.
Pick narrow first. A narrow niche is easier to rank for, easier to write for, and easier to say no to.
