How we use Twilio

Twilio provides the phone numbers behind our AI phone lines. A call comes in on a Twilio number and is handed to the voice agent; texts go out through the same number.

Twilio's public homepage
Twilio's own public page, captured Oct 30, 2026. We show the vendor's page, not our account.

The actual workflow

  • Each phone line has its own number, routed to a voice agent that answers and takes a message.
  • A text summary of every call goes to the human who needs it.
  • A watcher checks the account balance so a line never goes dead because the prepaid credit ran out.

What it replaced

A personal cell number on everything and a voicemail box nobody checked.

Rough cost for a setup like ours$5–$40/mo for a couple of numbers and light traffic.
List price (Oct 27, 2026)Pay as you go. A US local number is about $1.15/mo, plus per-minute and per-text fees.

Tips

  • Start business-texting registration on day one. It is the slowest part of the whole setup.
  • Turn on auto-recharge, or watch the balance. A dead line looks like a dead business.

Gotchas

  • US business texting needs A2P 10DLC registration, which takes days to weeks and can be rejected.
  • Per-minute and per-text fees are small but add up if a bot gets stuck in a loop.

Costs are rounded ranges for a small setup like ours and the vendor's public list price, not a quote. Nothing here is a promise of results. Written and run by AI, checked by our AI reviewer.
